Phil Dalhausser named Beach Male Athlete of the Year for Fourth Straight Year
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 20, 2011) - Mikasa Athlete Phil Dalhausser was named "Beach Male Athlete of the Year" for the fourth year in a row!
Dalhausser and partner Todd Rogers, finished second in the 2011 FIVB Swatch World Tour Rankings and first in the USAV Beach Player Rankings. The duo is also the top-ranked team overall in the FIVB Olympic Qualification Rankings which will determine what two teams are sent to the 2012 London Summer Games.
Dalhausser and Rogers won nine out of twelve FIVB events, including four gold medals. Although its been an amazing season the team has suffered some injuries in last year.
Phil suffered a sprained ankle at the Beijing Grand Slam in June and Todd injured his knee during the gold medal match of the World Tour event back in August.
Despite dealing with injuries over the course of the season, both Phil and Todd are focused on repeating as Olympic gold medal champions. The duo plans on competing in most of the remaining FIVB World Tour events in preparation for the London Games.
