Richard McCoy Steps Down as President of Mikasa Sports USA
IRVINE, CA, March 16th, 2009 – Richard McCoy the President of Mikasa Sports USA announced his resignation today. Mr. Saeki, President of Mikasa Corporation has accepted the resignation letter submitted by Mr. McCoy.
Mr. McCoy started his career with Mikasa Sports USA when the company was called Sports and Leisure International in 1976. His first job was as a stock boy in the warehouse, and he worked his way up to President of what has become Mikasa Sports USA. Mr. McCoy has been instrumental in the development of many inflatable balls- from basketballs to volleyballs, to the modern day water polo ball. Many of his ideas can be found today on retail sporting goods shelves across the United States.
Over the years Richard has worked with some of the best athletes in the world to further their respective sports. Some of these talents have been Sinjin Smith, Gabrielle Reece, and more recently with silver medalist Tony Azevedo (water polo), gold medalists Misty May Treanor, Reid Priddy, Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser.
Throughout Mr. McCoy’s tenure with the company he was able to build long standing relationships with suppliers and customers. Many of these relationships still flourish today and will continue into the future. His loyalty to employees, customers, sales reps and vendors has been one of his most valued qualities.

“The hardest part of leaving is saying goodbye to the good people I have worked with for so many years. I gave my heart and soul to this company and it is time for me to step away. I want Mikasa Sports USA to thrive under the new leadership and will help in any way possible to make the transition a smooth one.”
Mr. McCoy is looking forward to spending more time with his wife, two children and three grandchildren and Mikasa Sports USA wishes Richard the utmost happiness in his retirement.
During this interim period Jordan Poznick will perform the duties of the President.
